Matching Cameras

Fundamental to almost all visual effects is the idea of matching a camera. Any given shot in a movie is made with one camera. Visual effects shots, on the other hand, can be composed of elements shot with many cameras, some real and some virtual. You need to make the final shot look like it was filmed with one camera, as if no funny business was going on. For this to work, these cameras need to match, and to ensure that you need to know a few basics about how cameras work.
